Location: Middlebury, Connecticut (On-campus preferred; hybrid/remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates) 

Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position


Position Summary: Westover School seeks a globally fluent and relationship-driven Director of International Admission to lead the identification, recruitment, and enrollment of international students aligned with Westover’s mission to empower young women to lead lives of consequence. This position plays a central role in welcoming talented students from across the world into Westover’s diverse and inclusive community.

The role is intended to be based on campus in Middlebury, Connecticut, to support full participation in the life of the school and in-person collaboration. However, hybrid or remote work arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates with demonstrated success in international recruitment and a deep understanding of Westover’s mission and values.


Core Responsibilities:

1. International Recruitment Strategy, Travel, and Market Insight – 30%

  • Design and lead a comprehensive strategy to expand Westover’s reach in targeted international markets.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for growth in alignment with school values and enrollment goals.
  • Plan and execute international travel for student recruitment, relationship building, and partner engagement.
  • Represent Westover at global fairs, conferences, and international alumnae events.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in international student mobility, visa policy, and market shifts to inform strategy and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment to align international efforts with the school’s broader enrollment vision.

2. Prospective Family Engagement and Admission Management – 25%

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned international students and families throughout the admission process.
  • Conduct interviews, guide families through each stage of the process, and respond with cultural sensitivity and clarity.
  • Coordinate campus visits for international families to ensure a warm and informative experience.
  • Maintain a personalized, high-touch approach to family engagement that reflects Westover’s values of connection and care.

3. Relationship Development and Global Partnerships – 20%

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international consultants, educational agents, and placement directors.
  • Develop new feeder school relationships and steward existing ones to strengthen Westover’s reputation abroad.
  • Represent Westover’s mission and values with clarity, warmth, and professionalism in all global communications.

4. Admission Events and Institutional Participation – 15%

  • Actively participate in planning and staffing major admission events such as Open Houses, Saturday tours, Admitted Students Day, and Revisit Days.
  • Coordinate the participation of international families in these events, both in person and virtually when needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to support prospective family programming that enhances community visibility and engagement.
  • Cover domestic travel conflicts, as needed.
  • Work cross-departmentally to ensure international perspectives are reflected in school-wide events.

5. Administrative, Committee, and Operational Duties – 10%

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of interviews, applicant communication, and travel notes in the Admission CRM (Blackbaud K-12).
  • Contribute to internal data analysis and reporting.
  • Serve on committees and working groups as assigned, providing insight into international student experience and enrollment.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in international admission, global education, or school-based recruitment.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM databases; Blackbaud K-12 experience a plus.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and comfortable in a fast-paced, front-facing office.
  • Strong event planning, travel logistics, and outreach experience required.
