Westover School is a girls-centered boarding and day school education experience for grades 9–12. Position Summary:

Westover School is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach for the Fall 2025 season. Practices occur on weekday afternoons, and matches are typically scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with occasional exceptions.

The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive team environment and demonstrate a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate practices
  • Coach and supervise all scheduled games and team events
  • Travel with the team to away games
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Varsity Coach and Athletic Department staff
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes
  • Uphold and implement the policies outlined in Westover’s Coaching Handbook
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to student-athletes, demonstrating professionalism, sound judgment, and Westover values

Qualifications:

  • Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, or a successful personal background in volleyball
  • Extensive knowledge of game strategy and skill development
  • Demonstrated success in building team culture and achieving competitive excellence
  • Passion for the sport and enthusiasm for working with young people
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass federal and state background checks
  • CT driver’s license with an “A” endorsement preferred
  • Positive, collaborative, and student-centered approach
